The dawning of a new age
Resolute, a small inuit hamlet of 229 people on Cornwallis Island in Nunavut, is situated at the northern end of Resolute Bay, on the shores of the Northwest Passage.
One of Canada's northernmost communities, it sits in a place with no dawn, in the land of the midnight sun and is one of the coldest inhabited places in the world. In August 2007, the fate of Resolute and of Canada's Arctic territories was forever altered. Full article

Northwest Passage
The United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea 1982, defines the rights and responsibilities of nations in their use of the world's oceans, establishing guidelines for businesses, the environment, and the management of marine natural resources.
